Paris, Je t'aime!

About a month ago (a month. shesh time flies), I took advantage of Brussels central location and hopped on a train to Paris.
My friend Sarah planted the idea about a week before we went, and it was one of those "why not!" moments. So we booked train tickets and a hotel for the night and off we went.

And boy am I glad we did. Not only was it a wonderful weekend with lovely company, but the weather was phenomenal and Paris overwhelmed me with its Spring beauty.
We did what I consider to be my Paris must do's: Galleries Lafayette (the food hall...swoon, and don't even get me started on the home store), wandering along the Seine and in the Tuileries.

And there were some lovely surprises. Sitting along the Seine chatting and taking in the beautiful weather and scenery (and a few strong whiffs of urine, but lets forget about those, shall we?) for a heavenly hour. Popping into a little shop near our hotel and finding some lovely napkins. Enjoying a truly delicious meal at a tiny family run restaurant.
We basked in the sun for Sunday brunch, in Paris. Anything more perfect than that? I think not!
But the highlight of the trip for me was definitely stopping into Sainte-Chapelle. It has been on my Paris to-see list for a very long time, and we finally made it happen this time. If you haven't been, go! The stained glass is breathtaking, and its location nestled in the Palais de Justice is quite unique.

Thanks for a GREAT weekend Ms. Sarah!
